Thank you for your interest in guiding at the Tenth Annual One Shot Turkey Hunt, to be held in Richmond April 17-18, 2026. If selected, you’re expected to be an experienced turkey hunter and caller, with good woodsmanship, and a commitment to maximize opportunity for hunter success and safety. We will be hosting two events that will need your attendance. On Monday, April 13, 5–7 pm, we will be hosting a Guides’ Dinner at Bass Pro Shops in Ashland, VA. At this meeting you will receive information critical to the success of not only your hunt, but also the One Shot. On Friday, April 17, 5–7 pm you and your hunter will meet at Bass Pro Shops in Ashland to plan your next day’s hunt. These two events are not only a lot of fun, but help ensure a great experience for the hunters. We ask that if you are not able to commit to attending both of these events, you consider reapplying as a guide next year. Selected guides cannot carry a gun on this hunt.

Proceeds from the 2026 Old Dominion One Shot Turkey Hunt will be used to promote hunting opportunities across Virginia through the Wildlife Foundation of Virginia and the Department of Wildlife Resources.

Waiver of Liability

The undersigned acknowledges that participating in this Old Dominion One Shot Turkey Hunt activity assumes the risk of any personal injury or property damages the undersigned may incur as a result of this activity and further agrees to hold the Wildlife Foundation of Virginia and voluntary landowners safe and harmless from any liability from the undersigned’s participation in this activity and hereby release the Wildlife Foundation of Virginia, its agents and employees from any and all liability due to any personal injury or property damages that may be suffered by the undersigned, from the undersigned’s participation in this activity whether or not caused by the negligence of any of the participants of the Old Dominion One Shot Turkey Hunt. The undersigned has read the provisions of the Waiver and knowingly and voluntarily agree to its terms.
